Central Otago Friendship Network do run regular social groups in the Alexandra area for those who may be isolated due to barriers such as experiencing disability or age related conditions. They are not support groups specific to a particular medical condition or impairment but rather casual social outings which seek to provide connection spaces for a diverse range of people who may experience loneliness or isolation in our rural communities. Bainfield Gardens aims to provide an environment where people who face the challenge of coping with varying degrees of mental illness can come to a Gardens where the environment itself creates healing.This is done through teaching work-based skills in a gardening environment which has a Christian culture of encouragement and love towards each other.In turn this adds back community and enjoyment into the consumers lives so that they will be able to transition back to the fullness of life.
Consumers are referred to the Bainfield Gardens (or BOG as it is often affectionately referred to) through the Southland District Health Board and other agencies, including self referral.

At City Podiatry we have a dedicated team of professionals who pride ourselves on providing only the very best care of your health. Established for over 20 years our podiatrists regularly participate in on going education to stay up to date with podiatric care. Our services include treatment of corns and callouses, problem nails, diabetic foot management, sports podiatry, biomechanical and postural assessments for adults and children, including orthotic therapy, footwear selection and adjustment and surgery. No referral is required, we accept ACC cases, or if your foot pain is a result of an accident you can fill in a ACC injury claim paperwork at our clinic. We would be delighted if we could assist you in getting back on your feet.

The Centre provides a referral-based mental health service to the community as part of its professional training activities. It provides services to assess and treat children and adults experiencing behavioural, emotional and health-related psychological problems.All attendees are seen by senior psychology students training toward registration as clinical psychologists. They are closely supervised by registered clinical psychologists. Close liaison and consultation is also maintained with referring agencies.As the Centre is a training environment, supervision of students is intensive and involves recording of appointments between students and clients as well as careful review of assessment and treatment decisions. The wellbeing of clients has the highest priority.

Club Enliven Taieri provides house bound elderly people in the Taieri area with recreational and social opportunities outside their home. It also provides social relief for families providing 24 hour care. We offer day groups from 10am-3pm Monday to Friday for people over 65.

Comcol Southland, located in Invercargill, provides a FREE Youth Service for 16 – 19 years and our focus is on supporting our taiohi into education, training, work based-learning, and employment. But every day we do so much more. Our youth coaches provide intensive, tailored support to identify each individual’s goals and the best path to reach them. Our wider communities also play an important role for our coaches, and we work collaboratively with many community organisations to provide a fully invested community wrap-around service. Our mahi, along with important wider community support, seeks to remove any barriers to success and create a better future for each and every young person we have the privilege of working alongside. Youth Service is a proven approach to working with young people. This will help young people gain the skills to find a job and have an independent future. Some young people will work with a Youth Service provider as part of getting financial support from Work and Income. This includes young people who are receiving Youth Payments, Young Parent Payments or receive support as a partner of a specified beneficiary. Our Rangatahi, our kaupapa, our foundation for action, is finding solutions for our rangatahi to gain independence through education, training, work-based learning and employment. Many of our rangatahi come to Comcol with low achievement in terms of qualifications, literacy, and personal experience. Developing opportunities to experience success is a key aspect on their pathway to positive growth. Positive caring relationships are our strength and celebrating success and achievement is an integral pathway to personal development and independence.

The Early Discharge Rehabilitation Service (EDRS) aims to promote intensive rehabilitation within your own home to enable you to be as independent as possible within your community. EDRS is based in Dunedin Hospital, and provides a community based rehabilitation service to patients in their homes and community setting, in the greater Dunedin area.Our service is provided by a highly skilled interdisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers and Rehab assistant support staff with access to Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy and Geriatrician support as required. We provide a patient goal-centred focus on encouraging patients to regain and maintain maximum level of function, and allowing them to live independently in their own homes.

Complex Chronic Illness Support provide qualified one on one facilitator and group support to people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/CFS), Fibromyalgia (FM), some Dysautonomia’s (POTS and Orthostatic Intolerance), and Long COVID.
We are well aware that these conditions do not stand alone, that they often come with co-morbidities. We are NOT a medical agency; we are a social support agency. This means that we can work with the entire family and be holistic in our care. We support the medical care provided by health professionals and allied health professionals. We can also provide names of specialists you can access.
We walk alongside our members on their journey towards wellness (whatever wellness may look like for them). We provide holistic and completely non-judgemental support.
We teach symptom management and provide the resources to give members a personalised toolkit to manage their condition, within their capacity/capabilities. With our support, people with complex chronic illnesses can, in time, develop an increased ability to participate in family, social and community life, and lead a life that is fulfilling and meaningful for them.
We also provide low-level advocacy for people needing support with Health Professionals, MSD, and workplaces, as required.
Conductive Education Otago can support everyone of all ages who have physical disabilities or movement problems caused by an injury to the brain. These injuries can occur before, during or after birth, or as a result of an accident, disease or stroke later in life.

Conductive Education Southern provides a holistic therapy for people of all ages with a neurological condition who have suffered a neurological event which has caused a brain injury, such as a stroke. We also provide services to children who may be struggling with some areas of their development.
