Boccia New Zealand promotes and supports the sport of boccia amongst all people with a physical disability throughout New Zealand.
Boccia is a precision ball sport similar to petanque and bowls whereby athletes throw, kick or use a ramp to propel a ball onto court aiming to get close to a target ball (Jack). Played indoors from a seated position using soft leather balls on a smooth rectangular court, boccia can be played as individuals, in pairs or teams of three. Boccia is a game of skill and strategy and is a truly inclusive sport in which men and women of all ages and abilities can play together. Boccia is a Paralympic sport with no Olympic counterpart and is designed specifically for athletes with a disability affecting locomotor function.

The Otago Brain Injury Association provides support, advocacy, information and education in order to promote quality life that maximises potential, choice and independence for people affected by brain injury. We provide a free and independent service throughout the entire Otago area supporting those with a brain injury and their families and carers. We provide assistance around accessing services and support i.e. ACC, Ministry of Social Development and other government organisations or community agencies. We also provide peer support groups across Otago. Our clients find it extremely helpful to have someone who is knowledgeable on entitlements and the systems they have to deal with, who is able to speak up on their behalf if required.
We provide information, support and representation for those with breast cancer so they can make informed choices about their treatment and care. We offer our Step by Step support pack free of charge to everyone diagnosed in NZ. Through our networking and advocacy we aim to make would-class detection, treatment and care available to everyone diagnosed with breast cancer, wherever they live in NZ.
Breastfeeding Support Otago and Southland (BFSOS) is a Peer Support programme created by WellSouth Primary Health Network. This programme aims to help women in our Southern communities to access FREE, friendly, and non-judgemental support to establish, maintain and continue breastfeeding and help with common feeding challenges. All Peer Supporters have completed accredited training and have been police vetted.
