We also work in the local community to advocate for sport to become more accessible for disabled people and to support the creation of more systems and programmes to enable participation in Para sport.
Parent to Parent connect parents and support siblings to provide information on thousands of disabilities and conditions. Parent to Parent’s Support Parent Network helps you to connect with trained volunteer Support Parents who have a child or family member with the same or similar disability, health impairment, or are experiencing a similar issue. Our information service provides printed or emailed information on more than 3600 conditions, from the very rare to the more common.

They are shaped to give you the information you want and need for pregnancy, labour, and life as a new parent in a supportive, safe, non-judgemental environment. Family Works operates a government-approved foster care service for children from birth to 17 years of age. The service relies on committed mature people prepared to share their home.
Foster parents come from a broad range of backgrounds and living situations. They provide a safe, supportive environment for children in need of emergency, short or long-term care.
Formerly Southern DHB Primary Birthing Unit - Gore Hospital offers birthing and postnatal services. There are four postnatal beds and one birthing bed. The unit is supported by five Lead Maternity Carers, and within the community there is access to lactation consultants, antenatal classes and other support groups.

A growing national support network of over 45 support networks provide valuable support and resources to men and their families living with prostate cancer. These groups are coordinated by trained volunteers (many with their own lived experience of the disease) and meet monthly or bi-monthly.
Our Information Service 0800 660 800 is available to anyone with non-medical questions and concerns related to prostate cancer. These calls are answered by a trained specialist.
Free professional counselling is also available for those experiencing emotional distress as a result of a prostate cancer diagnosis.
For those experiencing hardship related to treatment, the Welfare Grants Fund is available, to assist with expenses relating to transport and accommodation, counselling and specialised services or equipment.

The Space Programme is for mainly first time parents with newborn babies. Sessions are held over 3-4 terms in a relaxed, baby-friendly atmosphere. The main aim of these groups is to encourage parents to become involved in their children's play and understand their child's development.
RDNZ offers a platform and connector hub to link people to information and rare disorder groups specific to their disorder, and helps people navigate the health system. RDNZ provides a strong, unified voice to advocate for public health policy and a future healthcare system that works for those with rare disorders. We work with the Government, clinicians, researchers and industry to promote diagnosis, treatment, services and research. RDNZ continues to advocate for a national framework for rare disorders in New Zealand.
Our service is primarily for tamariki aged 0-5 years, but we also work with some tamariki and young people aged 5-16 years who meet the intake criteria and are not eligible to receive services through the education system.We work with pre-term pēpi and tamariki who are identified as having additional needs that might cause developmental delay.We work in partnership with whānau and other early intervention services to provide and implement an individual development programme (IP) for each tamaiti.
